Hi Dominic,

Thank you so much for reading, and for taking the time to tell me how it made you feel. That means a lot to me. I hoped writing a piece like this might help others who have experienced similar to feel a sense of support and as though they aren’t alone. I too have had to let go of a sibling of mine. She does not posses any sense of empathy, is arrogant, cold, and cruel, as well as deeply selfish and vain. It’s been a long process. Heartbreaking for me, actually. Though I’ve finally realized that she is quite bad for my mental health, so I had to let her go.

I am so sorry to hear you’ve experienced a feeling of no love given back from your four siblings. That also must be heartbreaking for you. It can feel like a relief, all while there will still be moments in which it hurts. It’s one of the most challenging aspects of life, if this is a person’s situation. Accepting that certain family members are not loving, healthy, or good people for us to be connected to. Sending you much empathy and supportive thoughts in this.
