Roxane, what a wealth of riches for all impassioned readers. Wow. Was thrilled to find this list of yours. I have added several to my perpetually growing, never ending, “to-read” list.
“Sing, Unburied, Sing,” I felt the same. Her prose, it’s so lyrical, poetic, beautiful, and the story, incredibly emotionally moving with our being placed into the differing vantage points/perspectives that we were.
With regard to what you've done this year: I just purchased “Not that Bad” and am highly anticipating starting it. I have no doubt it will be phenomenal, another much needed book to join the conversation of how women are regarded in our culture.
I read “Bad Feminist,” the first book of yours I have ever read, and was mind blown. Your writing is phenomenal, your insights and analysis of culture at large, riveting, so important. A much needed conversation that is long overdue at being started. I think I underlined and highlighted half the book. As well as, read several passages, paragraphs, even whole chapters aloud to my boyfriend. He too loved it.
Thank you for writing it, Roxane. We need more women like you. Those who are willing to speak, bravely, and truly, about what is going on in our culture at large.
